A study of teenagers (13 - 16) who participated in the Loozit program shows that the participants not only shrank their waistlines but picked up some extra self confidence as a result of their particpation.</p>
<p>&#8220;There were significant increases in the scores for physical appearance and romantic appeal by the end of the five-month program,&#8221; the evaluation said</p>
<p>It was previously thought that participation in weight loss programs had a negative impact on the self esteem of participants.  This new study proves the opposite.</p>

You also know that you have to eat as well, so your body will have the energy it needs to exercise and maintain for the everyday tasks of life.  For making the best of your exercise, what you eat before and after you workout is very important.</p>
<p>No matter if you are going to be doing a cardio workout or a resistance workout, you should always make it a point to eat a balanced mix of protein and carbohydrates.  What makes that determining percentage of carbs and protein you consume is whether or not you are doing cardio or resistance exercise and the intensity level that you plan to work at.</p>
<p>The ideal time for you to eat your pre workout meal is an hour before you start.  If you plan to work a low intensity level, you should keep your pre workout meal down to 200 calories or so.  If you plan to exercise at a high level of intensity, you will probably need your meal to be between 4,000 and 5,000 calories.</p>
<p>Those of you who are doing a cardio session will need to consume a mix of 2/3 carbs and 1/3 protein.  Doing so will give you longer sustained energy from the extra carbs with enough protein to keep your muscle from breaking down while you exercise.</p>
<p>For resistance exercise, you&#8217;ll need to eat a mix of 1/3 carbs and 2/3 protein, as this will help you get plenty of energy from the carbs to perform each set you do and the extra protein will help keep muscle breakdown to a minimum while you  exercise.</p>
<p>Eating after you exercise is just as important as your pre workout meal.  Anytime you exercise, whether its cardio or resistance, you deplete energy in the form of glycogen.  The brain and central nervous system rely on glycogen as their main source of fuel, so if you don&#8217;t replace it after you exercise, your body will begin to break down muscle tissue into amino acids, and then convert them into usable fuel for the brain and the  central nervous system.</p>

<p>Scientists believe that Hoodia&#8217;s appetite suppressing abilities is linked to a  molecule called &#8220;P57&#8243;. Typically, when you are eating, the glucose in your body rises and sends a signal to your brain to let your body know you are full. It is thought that &#8220;P57&#8243; molecule in Hoodia mocks the effect that glucose has on your brain, and thus sends fake signals that you feel full.  As a result, you have less desire to eat.</p>
<p><strong>Does Hoodia Help People Lose  Weight?</strong></p>
<p>If you could slow down your hunger, would you lose weight? One of the 1st studies of Hoodia Gordonii was done in the UK on obese patients. Half of the volunteers were given Hoodia Gordonii, the other  half were given a placebo (non active pill). The test participants were allowed to read, watch television  and eat. After 15 days it was discovered that those taking Hoodia had reduced their calorie intake by 1000 calories a day. Despite having unlimited access to food,  the Hoodia subjects lost weight.</p>

Maybe that you used to follow this same fast lifestyle even 20 years ago but managed to remain fit, but today you can no longer afford to do so, because age has come in your way. You may or may not be aware of this fact, but old people burn fat at a slower rate than their younger counterparts because their metabolic rate generally tends to be slower.</p>
<p>As you have probably realized by now, there is no better alternative to home cooked meals as far as diet is concerned. All those fad diet programs are not going to help you lose weight until you make this one important change. Obesity is different from being just fat or overweight; in fact, obesity is an extreme form of disease. If your body weight is more than your ideal weight, then you are suffering from obesity.</p>

<p>Remember that earlier in this article I told you about BMI? Well, diet charts are based on the BMI. Diet charts will tell you the ideal weight of a person of certain height. To use this, simply browse until you find your height; you will be able to see what should be your ideal weight. Simply subtract your ideal weight from your current body weight and now you know how many pounds you gotta lose in order to be slim!</p>
